Punish or Pardon

At a time when the nation is deeply divided on whether to punish or pardon a person convicted in the parliament attack case , we should ask some serious questions to ourselves.

Killing a person in the name of providing justice will not solve the problem of terrorism. It may infact end up being a very usefull weapon for the terrorists. The terrorists may create Mayhem in the valley to take revenge for the hangining of Afzal ( this is depends on clemency pettion pending with the president).

Our legal system, where life imprisonment ( maximum of 14 years in jail) needs to be looked very carefully. A middle ground of imprisoning a person for 50 years needs to be implemented. Our politians can be more sensible by behaving more rationally on such sensitive issues.

Hope our Scientist president will come up with some compromise formula to ensure that justice is delivered and the situation in the Kashmir valley does not get out of control.
