A Journey to the coast

A team of 16 people set out for a tour of Vizag for two days..;

Itenary:
Day 1 : Araku Valley and Borra Caves
Day 2 : Rushi Konda beach

We started our journey from Hyderabad on friday evening by the
'Godavari Express' ..; The jourey started with a round of 'Dumbsharats' and 'Antyakshari' .... later on the 'Pack of Cards' ruled the roost. The players concentration was interrupeted only by a passing beauty in our compartment and there was stiff competetion to get the seats that offered the best view ... It seemed to me that she enjoyed the special attention showered by five brotheren(of mine).

We reached Vizag station on time on Saturday morning; After getting fresh @hotel ... we had good breakfast; The route to Araku is very scenic .... the route near Araku is 'Ghat Road' reminiscent of Tirumala hills; The forest is dotted by streams of fresh water flowing through it; Anyone planning to visit Araku .. dont dozeoff while travelling throught the forest ... you will surely enjoy it when are awake; The Borra Caves was a real beauty .. its really worth the effort to go and have a look at such a great monument ...;

We had our lunch at a roadside hotel ... to be honest when i first entered the hut(hotel) i did not expect anything special to savour about ... but once the food is served you will forget that its a roadside hut/hotel you are eating at; The rice , curry , daal and Curd( ok the Curd was not hot) were hot and with good taste too; To the best of my knowledge the people who run these small hotels do not hold 'Hotel Management' degree(s) but i bet they know what people like you and me love to eat; Yeah true as Gandhiji once famously said if you want to see the real india go to the Country side ..... i would say if you want want to learn hotel management go the country side hut cum hotels(I know again a bad one ...); We reached Vizag city @dinner time ...and there was nothing much left after the feast @Dusbilla hotel.

Day 2 was dedicated to beachside activities ... we visited a 'Submarine Meauseam' .. the instructor gave good information about life under water for many days without commign to the surface of the sea ; The only thing i noticied about the Submarine was it was Large, Complex, Cramped, and a mean machine; We then made our way to Rushikonda beach .... it was an awesome sight to see the Ocean in its raw form; The basic facilities at the beach can be improved to provide the tourists with much needed relief .....; It was interesting to observe a couple of Rescue swimmers on the beach warning people not to go too far into the ocean; I later learnt that a person was drowned couple of days back while joyfully swimming in the sea; Being part of such a large group .. i thouroughly enjoyed my time at the beach ... hope to have such good times again in the future;

Finally to round it off, i have observed certain things about Vizag; The roads are in very good condition, there was not much of traffic jam, people were following the rules at Junctions even tough there was no policemen insight. There were malls and Showrooms of major brands in the city and at several places it was easy to mistake it for Hyderabad. Hope Hyderabad learns from its younger sibling; I am impressed by the City and its people; If the city contines to be developed in a planned manner with good public eminities and infrastructure, it will be a shining example for the rest of the country.
